Bloompunk was produced by a team of 40+ people between August 2022-May 2023.
Led the design team and worked across departments to ensure consistent design vision.
Designed the progression systems - including abilities, level structure, and game difficulty.
Mapped out, documented, and tested for player experience goals and design pillars.
Iterated on player avatar design, including gunplay and movement.
The core idea behind Bloompunk is overwhelming growth and consumption. If you fail to feed your abilities, they die; your abilities grow stronger as you feed them, but can you handle the power? Fight your way through a world that stands on the precipice of ruin, a world you've caused to consume itself. Can you pay the price restoration demands?
The moment-to-moment gameplay of Bloompunk is fluid, fast-paced gunplay. You have one weapon that is influenced by your abilities, drastically altering your available playstyle. Players will have to adapt their weapon and utilize every ounce of power they gain from their abilities, or adapt to what their weapon becomes...
